Take a turn around the garden and fields. If you feel the urge to do a spot of weeding then don’t fight it.
Climb the steps to the Bedrule Parish Church to enjoy views across the Rule Valley to Ruberslaw. Further along the ridge behind the Old Manse are the ruins of Bedrule Castle which was destroyed by Henry the Eighth’s men in the 1540s.
If you’re feeling energetic, walk to the top of Ruberslaw for a 360 degree view.
The Borders Abbey Way passes the end of our drive. Turn right to walk the 2 ½ miles to the village of Denholm and the nearest pub. Turn left for the five miles over the Dunion Hill to Jedburgh.
Alternatively, sit and relax.
